Ludum Dare: Slow Start

I’ve been taking this on at a pretty relaxed pace so far – I’m sure that’ll change in due time. I started by getting the absolute basics down – horizontal/vertical collision and movement, using blocked sprites. The red represents the player; magenta shows walls/floor.

I then spent some time working on the art-style – I think I’ve made a good start on that front. Above you’ll find our protagonist’s bedroom. It’s lucky he’s in bed because I haven’t quite decided what he looks like so far. I expect things will speed up now that I have the look going the way I want it to.
